These questions
are similar to what you can expect during a real interview. Being
prepared will enable you to think on your feet.
The suggested replies, excerpted from From Here to There
by Larry Stuenkel, aren't intended to give you one correct answer.
Rather, the answers should reflect your personal frame of reference,
based on your motives, goals, work skills and aspirations. The replies
are meant to stimulate your thinking, not to be memorized.
Q. What features of your previous job have you disliked?
This question could be devastating to your career opportunity if
you answer with a series of negatives. Every job has its down side
and you don't want to harp on the negatives.
If you were reduced in force, a good answer would be to say, "What
I disliked about my previous job was, that it went away from me.
I was downsized out of my position," or whatever describes your
situation.
If there are other reasons, respond with a positive point instead
of a negative: "The work flow varied so much that I could not give
as much attention to quality or detail as I would have liked."
